Hello everyone & thank you in advance for all of you who take the time to read & reply. So I have a question about Windows server and the best way to go about doing something.
Question: I have a client that is running a windows server at her office. She currently uses the server for record keeping (Quickbooks) & running her tape backup. Well she has found a different job now and doesn't have alot of time to do all the upkeep of her records. So she is having someone else at a different location do it for her. What she wants to have happen is for this other person at a different location (unaffilated with her business) remotely log into the server and use quickbooks. She asked me about using logmein(free edition) and if it was secure or not. My theory is that letting someone log into the server under her admin act. just to run quickbooks was asking for a disaster. Anyone out there have a good/secure way about doing this. All this person really needs to do is be able to update her existing quickbooks from remote location. Thanks Again! Josh |

Create a user account with permissions to login remotely and permissions to run quickbooks.
Never let anyone, no matter how much you trust them, have access to an admin account.
